Man, woman killed in apparent murder-suicide in Henderson, police say

Updated May 1, 2025 - 3:14 pm

The Henderson Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday that left a man and woman dead.

A department news release stated that officers responded to a call just before 10 a.m. in the 1200 block of Imperia Drive, just west of South Eastern Avenue and Grand Hills Drive in Henderson.

Officers found a 53-year-old woman who was fatally shot and a 74-year-old man in possession of a handgun, according to the news release. Police “tried to communicate with the armed man” for about 40 minutes, according to the release, though the man then turned the gun on himself. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died, police said.

On Thursday, the department said the incident was “likely the result of a murder-suicide.” Their identities will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The incident is being investigated as the third homicide in Henderson this year.
